Director General of Renowned international mobile operating company in a world called GSMA Mats Granyrd met PM Imran Khan for digital Pakistan in a parallel sitting during the annual meeting of World Economic Forum held at Davos, Switzerland.
Imran Khan discussed the cooperation of GSMA in realizing the vision of Digital Pakistan which is the government’s programme to speed up the growth of information technology sector of Pakistan in a meeting.
GSMA and Pakistan Government agreed to work together to deliver digital transformation in Pakistan.
Mats Granyrd appraised the government initiative of Digital Pakistan and offer transformative opportunities to enable digital services in Pakistan.
Digital technologies have become vital tools in recent years, to drive social development and economic growth in Pakistan. Digital transformation is underway in the country, with government and public institutions as well as private and development organizations using digital platforms to increase engagement and improve service delivery to citizens.
Prime Minister Imran Khan launched Digital Pakistan last month for introducing latest technology for public welfare and unleash the potential of youth in the country.
The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting over 750 operators with 400 companies in mobile ecosystem including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies. as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors.
