Pakistan began screening at airports of four cities in the country for passengers coming from china in the wake of the corona virus.

The authority said the measures focused on screening all the passengers coming from China to Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar.

Corona virus can cause respiratory diseases in animals, birds and humans. This disease is mainly transmitted from animals to humans, but scientists have ascertained that there is limited human-to-human transmission. Health experts are warning people to avoid coming in close contact with people suspected of carrying the virus.

WHO has confirmed So far, 17 people have been killed and 570 infected from the corona virus only in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Pakistan has introduced new screening measures to prevent the current outbreak of corona virus in China virus from entering the country through passengers.

Every passenger coming from China will have to go through health counters set up by the CAA at Airports. A doctor and two paramedics from the government health department will screen the passengers through thermal body scanning machines and thermometers, simultaneously.

In case someone is identified as the virus carrier, they will be kept in isolation rooms designated by the CAA till their shifting to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) hospital to keep the patient in quarantine.

However Pakistan has so far not reported any case of the corona virus which seems to have originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
