Khurrum Ashfaque has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor Pakistan by the board of directors.

Khurrum Ashfaque has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor Pakistan by the board of directors. Irfan Wahab Khan, who will take up a new position as Senior Vice President (SVP) at Telenor Asia, will be replaced by him. Irfan will continue to serve as Telenor Microfinance Bank’s (TMB) Board of Directors Chair. The appointment will take effect on September 15, 2023.

Khurrum formerly served as Telenor Pakistan’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). He has worked for the firm for 17 years and has been instrumental in helping Telenor Pakistan become a strong, effective business that is prepared for the future.

Irfan Wahab Khan made the following statement on the transition: “Leading Telenor Pakistan has been an unbelievable journey, one distinguished by dedication, creativity, and the unshakable commitment of our outstanding team. I feel an enormous feeling of appreciation as I leave this position.”

Irfan began working for Telenor in 2004 as the organization’s first employee in Pakistan. Since then, he has held many leadership positions within the Telenor Group, both in Europe and Asia. He has served as CEO of Telenor Pakistan for the past seven years, during which time he has played a crucial role in maintaining company stability and advancing the digitalization agenda.
