The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) organized a noteworthy seminar focusing on the ‘Pakistan Animal Identification & Traceability System’ at the Akram Complex, situated within the Ravi Campus Pattoki.

The seminar featured a demonstration of the cutting-edge animal identification and traceability model, developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), presented by the esteemed National Consultant on Animal Traceability, Dr. Naveed Ahmad Khan Niazi.

Distinguished figures in attendance included Prof. Dr. Saima, the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, Prof. Dr. Arshad Javid, Principal Officer of Ravi Campus, Prof. Dr. Hassan Saleem, Director of Student Affairs, and a substantial gathering of esteemed faculty members and students.

Among the top 10 universities in Pakistan, the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, has a 137-year history. It was initially founded in 1882 as a school and transformed into a college in the late 19th century.

Due to the economic importance of the livestock and poultry industries as well as the expanding demand for human resources and research in veterinary and animal sciences, it was promoted to a university in 2002. There are 23 departments at UVAS spread among 5 faculties, 4 institutes, 2 constituent colleges, and 7 associated institutes.
