One of the Consortium on Climate Change, Sustainability, and Conservation (CCSC) partners, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, is hosting an international seminar (IUB). The event was hosted by the Aga Khan University Karachi’s Institute for Global Health and Development in collaboration with Pakistan’s Development and Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Scientists and policymakers in Pakistan have expressed grave concern about the impending water crisis. Water scarcity has emerged as a major threat to Pakistan’s long-term development and economic growth. By 2025, the country may face an alarming level of water scarcity.

Flooding and drainage issues will worsen by 2050, particularly in the lower Indus Basin. “We must support bold and pragmatic reconstruction approaches, such as water and climate research networks and Indus Basin models that prioritise health and well-being,” he said.
