IT Ministry has developed Smart Office App (SOA) for public sector offices in order to provide safe online communication among the masses. All in order to keep the work going, the ministry of Information and Technology is introducing SOA in the public sector offices.

As per the Annual Development Plan (ADP) implementation and the use of video meeting solutions and applications will further be motivated within the governmental offices.

To provide benefit to the common man, social programme “EHSAAS” will be using Information Technology precariously so as to reach out and pay out relief packages to the needy population, specially the lowest strata, on a national level.

According to ADP, Virtual University will be launching Blended Education for university students through its online infrastructure to ensure no hindrance is halting the education during the crisis that has taken birth with the arrival of COVID-19.

Along with knowledge economy initiative some of the crucial projects are planned to be executed during the present year. These projects include: Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with China, Establishment of Software Technology Zones, National Centre of IoTs and expansion of National Incubation Centres (NICs) are also planned.

To intensify IT/ITeS exports, a Marketing Strategy feasibility study and implementation programme will also be initiated.

Besides, a pilot project to develop a Digital Agriculture ecosystem in the country is also in the pipeline, feasibility study related to application of digital technologies in high-tech bio-facility is anticipated, through Ministry of IT’s project titled “Enhancing IT Exports through Industry Support Programmes”.

CMMI consultancy will be provided to 30 more companies and they will attain certification of CMMI level-2, CMMI level-3, CMMI level-5 and ISO 27,001/ 20,000 international standards.

During next financial year, Pakistan Space Centre (PSC) will be implemented. Pakistan Multi-Mission Satellite (PakSat-MM1) will be executed and Feasibility Study of Pakistan’s 2nd Optical Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-O2) will also be executed.

Lastly, under CPEC, In Phase-II, Cross-Border OFC system between China and Pakistan for international connectivity of voice and data traffic will also be introduced as it will pave the way for alternative avenue for international internet connectivity.
