STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan and Australia have entered into agreement of education promotion. The mutual cooperation was surfaced as Pakistan Margaret Adamson and Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr Mukhtar Ahmad signed a document of understanding (DoU) for partial scholarships for Pakistani scholars in Australian universities.


According to the agreement four top ranked universities of Australia including University of Melbourne, University of Wollongong, Macquarie University and RMIT University will offer fellowships to Pakistani scholars. The number of partial scholarships ranges up to 170.


Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said while speaking on the occasion, “Pakistan has shared an immaculate brotherly relation and advancing jointly for education promotion is a commendable initiative which will help Pakistani youth to get higher education from top universities of Australia.


The joint initiatives of scholarship by HEC and Australian counterpart are important development in education sector especially in improving and honing the abilities of Pakistani youth. The agreement entails funding from HEC as well as from Australian universities; scholars from Pakistan will be the prime beneficiary of these scholarship programmes.
