World DNA day is celebrated on every year’s 25th April to commemorate the publication, in 1953 describing the DNA double-helix structure. On the same day in 2003, the Human Genome Project was acknowledged.

The ultimate aim of DNA day is to put forward students, teachers and the public an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the newest advances in genomic research and see the sights how those advances impact their lives.

Confer to the day; let’s have a flashback to comprehend better the DNA day significance. James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalink Franklin and colleagues published papers on the structure of DNA.

DNA is a molecule composed of two chains that spiral around each other to form a double helix carrying the genetic instructions used in the growth, development, working, and reproduction of all known organisms and viruses.

Furthermore, on that day in 2003 it was declared that the Human Genome Project was very close to complete that influential the chain of nucleotide base pairs that make up human DNA, and of identifying and mapping all of the genes of the human genome from both a physical and a functional stance.

Keeping in view, all above basic information concerning to human genome needs to circulate to the populace by celebrating the day either in form of campaigns, essay contest, international moots and innovative videos to impart DNA knowledge.
