Pakistan has the capacity to produce 2.324 million megawatts (MW) electricity annually through solar energy and Photovoltaic (PV) system.
Pakistan can generate more electricity from solar energy than other countries of the world including India, Germany, Spain, and China due to its geographic location.
Researcher has said in his report that Pakistan can produce one-third electricity more than Germany through solar energy. It is also reported that Pakistan can make 1,920 kilowatts per meter squared per hour (kWh/m2) electricity from sunlight.
He said that solar energy can not only overcome the power shortfall in the country but can also provide electricity to people at a lower cost which will ensure the progress of the national economy.
