In-Florida-Country-Several-Coronavirus-Deaths-Wrongly-Attributed-Investigation-Reveals

An investigation into coronavirus deaths in a Florida county revealed several examples of people who died from something else other than the virus.

CBS 12 News examined medical examiner’s reports on COVID-19 deaths and found eight examples where a person was listed as a coronavirus death but had actually died from something else. This includes a 60-year-old man who died from a gunshot wound to the head, a 90-year-old who fell and broke a hip, and a 77-year-old who died of Parkinson’s disease.

“I think it is completely misleading,” Rachel Eade, a Palm Beach County resident who has been looking into the issue, said about the findings.

“We need to remove those cases that are not COVID exclusive, and we need to be giving people that information,” she added.

Eade said that out of the 581 total deaths, only 169 of them are listed as just the coronavirus with no contributing factors.

Last week, a Florida health official admitted that a man who died in a motorcycle accident was listed as a coronavirus death and argued that it doesn’t necessarily need to be corrected because the virus could have caused the crash.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website listed over 3,700 coronavirus deaths that were the result of “intentional and unintentional injury, poisoning and other adverse events.”
