The Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, hosted Iftar Reception, on March 26, 2024, in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Minister of State (IT & Telecommunication), H. E. Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Ambassadors/diplomats of various COMSATS member states and friendly countries attended the reception. Senior Government officials – both civil and military, Heads of international organizations, academic institutions, S&T organizations, public departments and private sector, got together to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Congratulating the Guests on the auspicious month of Ramadan, he welcomed and thanked the guests for their participation in the reception being held in the Holy month of Ramadan and hoped for peace and harmony among nations across the globe.
He expressed deep sorrow at the plight of Palestinians and Kashmiri Muslims at the hands of Israeli and Indian Governments. He offered prayers for both the oppressed nations and called for accountability of the perpetrators of Crime Against Humanity viz. Israel and India. Ambassador Zakaria highlighted the importance of international cooperation in science and technology for providing tech-based solutions for various global challenges.
Spirit of Ramadan unity and exchange of fraternal sentiments were the essence of the event. Diplomats and senior officials availed the Opportunity to discuss with the IT Minister the matters of common interest pertaining to Science and Technology (S&T).
COMSATS recognizes its crucial role and placement in the global scientific cooperative landscape and continues to create necessary links and means for S&T collaboration among stakeholders in the South. The attending diplomats and dignitaries were appreciative of the organization’s pursuit of mission of S&T-led development in the South.
