The inaugural event witnessed the presence of notable figures including Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, Hu Yun, Secretary of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Dr. Farheed Iqbal, and Pakistan’s Acting Consul General in Chengdu, Agha Hunain Abbas Khan.
The Pavilion serves as a window to Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing its famous tourist destinations and a diverse array of agricultural products. Over a dozen Pakistani companies proudly displayed their high-quality agricultural goods, garnering significant interest from the Expo’s diverse participants.
Earlier in the day, Ambassador Haque took part in the grand Opening Ceremony of the 9th Sichuan Agriculture Expo, where Pakistan holds the esteemed title of Country of Honour. In his address, Ambassador Haque emphasized the robust bilateral ties between Pakistan and China, built on a foundation of political trust, strategic communication, and pragmatic cooperation. He also underscored the fruitful collaboration between Pakistan and Sichuan, particularly through sister province and city partnerships.
Pakistan’s active participation in this Expo is poised to catalyze further advancements in the cooperative efforts between Pakistan and China within the agriculture sector. This strategic engagement not only underscores the mutual commitment to economic development but also paves the way for innovative collaborations that will undoubtedly contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is the premier trade organization of Pakistan, mandated to promote exports and develop trade holistically. It is a body corporate established under a Presidential Ordinance in 2006 and is governed by a Board of Directors comprising representatives from the government, private sector, and academia.
TDAP also organizes trade fairs and exhibitions, both in Pakistan and abroad, to promote Pakistani products and services to international buyers.
TDAP is headquartered in Karachi, with regional offices in Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
