Lenovo is set to make its mark in the handheld Windows gaming arena with the introduction of the Legion Go, taking on competitors like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally.

This gaming device comes equipped with detachable controllers named Legion TrueStrike, a convenient kickstand, and an innovative controller base module that doubles as a makeshift mouse. With an 8.8-inch LCD display offering a 2K resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 pixels and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, the Legion Go stands out in the crowd.

Under the hood, the Legion Go is powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z1 series chipsets, including the high-performance Z1 Extreme, and boasts RDNA 3 graphics.

Users have the option to configure the device with a roomy 1 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, complemented by a microSD card slot for additional storage. It also features 16GB LPDDR5x RAM operating at a swift 7,500 MHz. A dedicated thermal cooling system, featuring a liquid polymer blade fan, efficiently manages heat.

On the connectivity front, the Legion Go offers two USB Type-C ports supporting USB 4.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and Power Delivery 3.0, along with a microSD slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for seamless wireless interactions.

Running on Windows 11 Home with a custom overlay called Legion Space, this device serves as a central hub for gaming. Lenovo even sweetens the deal by including a complimentary three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription with each Legion Go.

The device is powered by a two-cell 49.2Wh battery that supports fast charging, capable of reaching 70% capacity in just 30 minutes. Gamers can also take advantage of a power bypass mode to conserve battery life during gaming sessions. Lenovo includes a 65W PD charger as part of the package.

Starting at $699, the Lenovo Legion Go is set to hit the market in November, offering a powerful and versatile gaming experience in a handheld form factor. Gaming enthusiasts can look forward to this new contender in the world of portable gaming.
