This year, the “Green Summit” will be held by Pakistan Association Dubai, the largest gathering place for Pakistanis in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in an effort to increase public awareness of environmental changes.

Dr. Faisal Ikram, President of the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), revealed the paperless strategy and the environmental conference, adding that the association is also planning a “Green Summit” with the COP28 conference in mind so that the Pakistani community living in the United Arab Emirates is aware of the environmental changes.

At the Pakistan Journalist Forum’s “Guest in Town” programme, Dr. Faisal Ikram spoke about the PAD’s future plans. He stated that the association would also attend the COP 28 World Environment Conference, which will take place in November of this year at the Dubai Expo Centre. From November 30 to December 12, 2023, the COP28 will take place at Dubai Expo City in the United Arab Emirates.

The PDA President Dr. Faisal Ikram spoke about the association’s plans to stop using paper for the benefit of the environment. He said the association has already cut its use of paper by 90% and expressed the hope that by the end of this year, all transactions would be digital.

He claimed that the group is carrying out the vision of the Dubai government, as evidenced by the actions the Pakistan Association Dubai is taking to protect the environment and end the use of paper entirely.

According to Dr. Faisal Ikram, the Pakistan Association Dubai recently received the “Dubai Quality Award” from the Dubai government in recognition of its outstanding work in the United Arab Emirates. Receiving this honour a second time in a row is a great honour for the association and the Pakistani community.

The Pakistan Association Dubai is the largest community center for overseas Pakistanis in the world. It was founded in the late 1960s as a platform for advancing the social and cultural interests of Pakistani expatriates residing in Dubai and more broadly, the United Arab Emirates.
