The China-Malaysia Science and Technology Innovation Summit and Pitching Crush Grand Finale were held concurrently in Kuala Lumpur and Shenzhen on March 20. TusStar Malaysia signed strategic collaboration agreements with Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) and the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) during the event.

YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), said Malaysia’s innovation engine has created an ideal environment for investors to join the future technology ecosystem.

MRANTI will assist 75 Chinese technology companies designated by the event organiser, TusStar Malaysia, in establishing or expanding their operations in Malaysia as part of this effort.

Ten of these companies will create jobs in technology and innovation for Chinese workers, while five high-tech firms will transfer technology to suitable Malaysian companies. TusStar will also provide soft-landing assistance to at least 15 Malaysian companies developing locally in China, including logistics staff, venues, and business networks.

Furthermore, H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, stated that in the post-COVID-19 era, China will continue to strengthen R&D and high-tech cooperation with Malaysia to improve both countries’ living standards.

To achieve this goal, China will strengthen its scientific and technological innovation system by broadening access to science and technology.

The Chinese government is committed to expanding foreign exchanges and fostering a friendly cooperative environment, particularly with key partners in the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Malaysia.

TusStar will assist Chinese and Malaysian enterprises with market expansion, technological achievement transformation, talent development, and other aspects to promote both countries’ long-term economic and social development.

The event also included activities such as a panel discussion, theme sharing, and pitching crush. Sun Nan, a Party Group of the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, Datuk Fadzli Abdul Wahit, Senior Vice President, Digital Industry Development of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Xu Yunqi, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Angel FOF Management Co, LTD., and Tan Chin Chun, Solutions Architect of Malaysia for Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, were among the notable guests.

The panel discussion focused on the use of UAV technology and digital transformation technologies for Industry 4.0 in China-Malaysia science and technology innovation. Finally, ten start-ups from various technology sectors competed in the TusStar Southeast Asia Pitching Crush finals for potential venture capital investment opportunities and support in both countries.
