Air Products (NYSE: APD), a global industrial gases company that has been serving Malaysia for nearly 50 years, announced today that it will construct, own, and operate two nitrogen plants in Penang’s Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone and Batu Kawan Industrial Park.

In addition, the company will expand its pipeline network in both areas. This strategic investment in additional capacity and infrastructure will help Air Products maintain its leadership position in Northern Malaysia and its ability to meet market demands.

With two cutting-edge air separation units in the Prai Industrial Area and a vast pipeline network that covers the Prai Industrial Area, Bukit Minyak Industrial Area, Penang Science Park, Batu Kawan Industrial Park, and Valdor Industrial Area, Air Products has made a significant impact in Northern Malaysia.

Air Products will construct a one of its nitrogen plants at its greenfield site in Batu Kawan Industrial Park, Malaysia, which is home to a number of top-tier manufacturing firms, in order to meet growing customer demand. The plant will be integrated into the company’s current pipeline network.

To meet the rapidly expanding demand from the electrical, electronic, and other manufacturing industries, the company will also construct a new nitrogen plant in the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone.

In 2021, Air Products turned onstream its first nitrogen plant in the area. Air Products provides customers, particularly those with high volume demand, with greater dependability and cost-effectiveness by converting hauled-in liquified nitrogen to gaseous nitrogen supply via pipeline.
