The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU) is opening its doors first time for six bachelors’ programs. These include Civil, Electrical, Information Engineering, Mechanical, Medical, technologies, and Mathematics. According to the University press release, all arrangements are complete for conducting the admission test. Importantly, candidates qualifying Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) conducted by the HEC are exempt from this test

The last date for the submission of online applications is 17th September 2021. Students should submit a hard copy of the application by 22nd September. Admitted students’ merit list will be displayed on 24th September, and classes will resume on 4th October.

So far, the National Skills University is the only HEC recognized federal higher education institute associated with the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. According to the Vice Chancellor, several international organizations have shown their interest in joining hands with the National Skills University to elevate standards of skills education aligning with contemporary technologies.

The university continues to be a center for attraction for Pakistani youth aspiring to excel in technological education. During several advisement sessions conducted by the university, Pakistani youth is eager to pursue technical educations due to its vast applications and entrepreneurial opportunities. The university objectives align with the Prime Minister’s Hunarmand Pakistan Program, and dozens of students under this initiative are already getting short term skills training in cybersecurity, documentary & filmmaking, industrial automation, mobile repair, and manufacturing technologies.
