Taken the example of today´s post-modern and technological world, it leads people towards other planets, while if we take the example of district Tharparkar, there is a lot of problems in this district, in which water scarcity is a big problem.
It has a population of about 1.6 million people. Tharparkar is the largest desert of Pakistan and facing a huge water scarcity problem. To obtain one bucket of water, one has to cover a distance of 5-6 km.
The morning of the residents here begins with the search for water. Due to severe water requirements, young children are not able to go to school because of the search for water with their parents.
Now, in Tharparkar the special source of water is tube well, while 70% of the population is deprived of clean water and because of this people are often suffering from illness by drinking salt water. Especially, most of the Tharies are survive on the livestock but those too die without getting water.
One of the reasons for the scarcity of water is low rainfall. However, the federal and provincial governments have not formulated a specific strategy for the Tharparkar residents.
Some social organisations and NGO´s are working here, but the federal and provincial governments should take action against such problems and fulfil the basic needs of people so they can live their lives in prosperity in a comfortable and facilitated environment.
