Ever since Huawei was placed on the US government’s “Entity List,” the company has not been able to release a phone with Google apps.
Phones that were previously released can still use Google apps, though, and Huawei is taking advantage of this detail. As previously reported, the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition is a re-release of the phone from 2019 in a new color.

Since this is only a re-release, which it needed to be in order to keep Google apps, there aren’t many differences. The P30 Pro New Edition is available in the new “Silver Frost” color from the P40 Pro (along with the old black and Aurora). The specifications are identical to the “old” P30 Pro, but you only get one storage option: 256GB.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Huawei P30 Pro, the device features a 6.47-inch OLED display, Kirin 980 SoC, 8GB of RAM, quad rear cameras with 5X optical zoom, and a 4,200 mAh battery. It’s certainly still a very solid device in 2020, even if some of the specifications are being surpassed by other smartphones.
The last difference is the price, which you would expect from a re-released smartphone. The P30 Pro New Edition will go on sale in Germany on May 15th for €749 ($810). Anyone who buys the device will get a free pair of Huawei FreeBuds 3 and an offer to buy the Watch GT 2 for €99. The device will only be available for around a month as supplies are limited.
