Climate Launchpad (CLP), is the world’s leading green global final competition. Its mission is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that deal with climate change.
The competition attracted 100 clean-tech entrepreneurs from 50+ countries across the country. They submitted their applications and then top 20 teams competed to represent at the Global Final competition going to be held later in this year.
Pakistan is participating for the first time in the Climate Launchpad program. Top three positions entitled with Karachi teams. Geo Thermal Pakistan from Karachi won the Stimulus Climate Launchpad Pakistan’s first edition. The second prize winner ‘Goats for Water’ and ‘Fruges’ from Karachi came in third. All three teams determine to represent Pakistan at the Global Final competition.
National Lead Climate Launchpad Pakistan, Hira Wajahat said “With the first edition of the Climate Launchpad competition in Pakistan, it is clear that climate change challenges offer massive business opportunity”.
She added, Over 100 clean-tech entrepreneurs submitted their green business ideas and the top 20 have presented their business field today. We are excited about these entrepreneurs receiving commercial, scalable solutions in a variety of market segments and getting ready for global impact.”
Federal Minister and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Mr Malik Amin Aslam, said that: “It is very encouraging to witness the efforts of organizations like Stimulus supporting programmes such as Climate Launchpad to introduce and promote business start-ups in the country through green-business and clean-tech innovation.”
