Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry announced that his ministry has successfully developed Lunar Calendar (Islamic Calendar) and the moon-sighting App.
Fawad Chaudhry said “Islamic calendar and moon-sighting mobile App has been forwarded to Council of Islamic Ideology (CII)” to review over the application functionality.
Minister urged the Council of Islamic Ideology to brief Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, Shahab-din-Popalzai and other religious scholars over it to understand how it actually works.
Concerning on the moon sighting application, Council of Islamic Ideology will assemble a meeting, where officials of Science and Technology will give a briefing after that the matter will be forwarded to the federal cabinet.
The ministry for science and technology proclaimed that soon the website will be launched when convene a go ahead from federal cabinet.
