Pakistan’s Labour Force survey conducted on present gender wage gap and appraisal that women’s household work was counted nowhere in the national data.
According to the survey, women accomplish around 2.5 times the amount of unpaid work as compared to men globally which worth around US$10 trillion.
The survey acknowledged, that the rural women play a pertinent role in agriculture sector but are not given proper wages due to the gender inequality rampant in all socio-economic domains in the country, as mentioned the allowance below;
“The male agricultural workers earned Rs300 per day while female agricultural workers earned Rs170 per day instead they dedicated more hours per day than men; moreover, women earn only 32.82 per cent in skilled agriculture while men earn around 67.18 per cent.”
The Pakistan’s Labour Force survey recommended that the government should have an appropriate system to put into practice and then monitor those legitimate rights and ordinances.
