PR:  ITP ‘Islamabad traffic police has introduced a paper-free digital chalan in collaboration with National Bank of Pakistan and JS Bank. Under the arrangement digital Challans will be issued by Traffic officials through Smart phones and violators will receive chalan notifications through SMS on other end. Violators will have multiple options to pay against the chalan including Branchless Banking Infrastructure of different mobile money schemes including JS Bank connected to NBP Payment Aggregator. Initially service is enabled through agent network of JS Bank alongside Mobile Wallets however same service will be activated through Alternate Delivery Channels of NBP and other mobile money schemes including easypaisa and Jazzcash.

Speaking about this big win Sultan Azam Temuri, IG Islamabad said; we are moving aggressively towards the vision of Digital Policing in Islamabad to ensure public convenience and raising our standards at International level. This is a massive step towards digital policing in Islamabad as it offers a suite of services in addition to Digital Challan generation & Fee Collection system. This system in total offers digitization in following six categories to make ITP, Pakistan’s first completely paperless and digital force:

  • Digital Issuance: Paperless Traffic Challan i.e. Digital Challan
  • Digital Payments: Convenience of Challan Fee payment through NBP Payment Aggregator initially enabled via JS Mobile Wallets & JCash Agents
  • Documents Management System: Digital Record of Confiscated Document/Vehicle
  • Live Monitoring: Digital Monitoring of Traffic Police Officers linked with their duty roasters
  • Traffic Management: Heat maps of traffic violations
  • Live Reconciliation: Live settlement of books of accounts with digital record

President NBP has sent his special message on this occasion. He congratulated Islamabad traffic police on this impressive and forward looking initiative as it will bring significant convenience to the public. He said that NBP is proud to be part of this revolutionary step as the bank had taken the lead in creating digital solutions those are interoperable for the benefit and ease of customers. He said that NBP would continue to bring further digital products in the market as he saw this as future of banking.

Inclusion through digitization being the core philosophy, JS Bank partnered with National Bank of Pakistan and Islamabad Traffic Police for digitization of Traffic Challan generation and Digital Payment. JS Wallet can be activated by simply downloading the mobile application from Google Play Store from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inov8.jsblconsumer. The same application will also be made available on iOS App Store soon.
