STAFF REPORT ISB: The second Convocation of NUST School of Social Sciences and Humanities (S3H)in Islamabad where as many as 125 students received their bachelors degrees in the disciplines of economics, mass communicationand government and public policy, while another 19 got master’s of science (MS) degrees in economics.
PMs Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz was chief guest on the occasion.
Earlier, the chief guest awarded Presidents Gold Medals and three Chancellors Silver Medals to students for outstanding academic achievements.
Ayesha Amjad Qaisrani won the gold medal in MS Economics, Hira Nisar Khan in Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics and Amina Mazhar in BS Mass Communication.
Mishaal Mariam Khan received a silver medal in Bachelor of Public Administration, Alishba Rasheed in BS Economics, and Sundus Zafar in BS Mass Communication.
The Best Teacher Award for the year 2015 was given to Saeeda Batool, a faculty member at Economics Department, while Assistant Professor Dr. Faisal Jamil was conferred the Best Researcher Award for 2015.
NUST Rector Engineer Muhammad Asghar also addressed the august gathering. He said that NUST was among the top 400 world engineering universities and among the top 100 young universities in the world, according to international ranking agencies.
In his welcome address, S3H Principal and Dean Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan congratulated the graduating students and thanked their parents and the schools faculty for their hard work over the years.
