STAFF REPORT PEW: In order to fluster the stale power sector of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government deliberated to build Hydel Power Stations in different parts of the province. The accumulated power generation capacity of these projects will be 600 MW that will account for domestic and industrial needs of the province.


“KPK government has allocated Rs. 305 million for these projects,” official of KPK government said.


The areas in which the hydel projects are planned to be are Chitral, Uppar Dir, Mansehra, Lower Dir and Shangla districts.


The projects will be instrumental in curbing the menace of energy crisis in the province. The KPK government also plans to focus on renewable energy as well to provide sustainable energy.
