Staff Report ISD: Science and Technology (SandT) pavilion was organized at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad on April 18-19, 2015. The event was organized by Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and its subsidiary organizations that include Paksitan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) and Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) in collaboration with Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Islamabad.


The Foundation launched this event as part of their science outreach program. The primary objectives of the pavilion were the promotion of Science and Technology among general public, filling the vacuum between science and the society, development of public-private partnerships and establishment of knowledge oriented productive competitive economy.


The event covered various aspects of science in order to attract the general public. This included series of Planetarium display by PSF to foster interest of public in astronomy in particular and science in general. Information on constellations and planets was provided. In addition, showcase of stuffed animals, gem stones and edible mushrooms was displayed by PMNH to disseminate information about biodiversity potential of Pakistan. Documentaries pertaining to SandT were also presented by PASTIC for the sake of amplifying public interest in science and technology. The SandT Pavilion drew the attention of large number of general public including students and children.
