STAFF REPORT IBD: Pakistan has recently joined over 160 countries by participating in the worlds largest volunteer campaign. The Hour uniting people for a brighter Pakistan.

The WWF-Pakistan has again achieved record participation from all quarters including media, academic institutions, hospitality sector, shopping malls, cities, with industry leaders from the tourism, finance, food and beverage, telecommunications, real estate, Mazar-e-Quaid management and CDA, and online sectors.

The Sindh government has declared Province Sindh as EH 2013 for past consecutive three years with over 60 districts participating in Earth Hour 2013.

The EH 2013 was observed at five international airports across Pakistan including: Jinnah Intl Airport, Karachi, Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar and Quetta International Airport. While major cities observing Earth Hour in Pakistan include Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar.

Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan will be observing Earth Hour at Shah Faisal Mosque – the largest mosque in Pakistan! Lahore will be conducting a ceremony open for public at Qarshi University.

Karachis official Earth Hour Ceremony organised by WWF-Pakistan in collaboration with Government of Sindh will take place at the Mausoleum of Quaid.

The official Ambassadors for EH 2013 include Samina Peerzada, Adnan Siddiqui, Faakhir Mehmood, Freiha Altaf, Tapu Javeri, Mekaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Omar and Agha Shiraz.
