STAFF REPORT KHI: The IUCN Pakistan has appointed Mahmood Akhtar Cheema as Country Representative.
According to a press release, Cheema brings with him over 20 years of experience in natural resource management and more than 15 years of experience with IUCN.
He had been entrusted with the Acting Country Representative IUCN Pakistan role twice previously (in 2006 and most recently in 2012). Cheema headed IUCNs Islamabad programme office for more than six years.
He holds a bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and a Master of Science in Agriculture Extension from University of Reading, UK. Among numerous affiliations, he is a Founder Member and Member of Board of Diectors of several organizations.
