Islamia College Peshawar has invited applications for the award of overseas PhD scholarships under HEC funded project (Phase-II) titled “Strengthening/Up gradation of Islamia College, University Peshawar” in the following disciplines: Mathematics, Statistics, Pakistan Studies, LLB (Shariah). The scholarship will be awarded for the year 2012 in the HEC recognized universities of technologically advanced countries. Eligibility Criteria: Minimum of 16 years of education or 4 year education after FA/FSc in relevant field from HEC recognized Universities/Institutions will be compulsory for admission in PhD program. Not having more than two 2nd divisions in the entire academic career. Having no 3rd division or D grade in the academic career except MPhil/MS or equivalent degree holders with only one 3rd division in the entire academic career. A test equivalent to NTS GAT / International GRE (General/Subjects) will be necessary. The applicant must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (Accumulative) in the NTS-GAT or has qualified the International GRE. Applicants who have secured admission for PhD program or MPhil / MS leading to PhD program in the specified disciplines in any of the HEC recognized universities abroad will be given preference. Candidates already availing HEC or any other scholarship are not eligible. Selection: All scholarships will be awarded on open merit basis. All the in-service candidates whether, permanent, temporary, ad-hoc or contract should apply through proper channel. Only selected candidates shall be offered a faculty position (if the selected candidate is employed somewhere else) he/she shall be required to join Islamia College Peshawar within four weeks of issuance of offer letter. Awardees must serve Islamia College Peshawar (CU) for five years after completion of the studies. All the selected candidates shall furnish a bond that they will report to Islamia College Peshawar and HEC. If the selected candidates are not employees of Islamia College Peshawar (CU), they shall also furnish a bond that they will report to Islamia College Peshawar after completion of their degree and shall serve the ICP for five years or in lieu thereof shall refund the amount to be determined by HEC.
