STAFF REPORT IBD: Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) has recently arranged a sitting in connection with the renowned poet, writer and intellectual Ghulam Hussain Bukharis poetry on scientific subjects here.
Renowned Poet and Writer Iftikhar Arif presided over the event while Ejaz Rahim was be the chief guest. Ali Hussain Naqvi, Dr. Hamid Saleem, Sarfraz Shahid, broadcaster Kosar Samreen and Dr. Anwar Nasim expressed their views on literary contributions of Bukhari.
Hasnain Bukhari recited his poetry at the event which was attended by a reasonable number of scientists and literary personalities. They appreciated the arranging of the scientific poetry and suggested that this event should continue in future.
PSF is constantly exploring different ways and means for promotion and popularization of science and arranging a literary sitting is a new vision to create awareness among masses about the importance of science for development of the country, PSF Chairman Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Soomro said in his remarks.
Writers, poets and intellectuals have direct contact with masses through their writings and their role in revolutionizing the society is of immense importance, he said, adding, PSF continues to benefit from their works to promote science.
PSF working under the umbrella of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan has the honor of initiating the Science Popularization concept in Pakistan.
