Whatsapp give control over groups you wish to join

Whatsapp being the world’s largest messaging app is adding another feature to uphold the privacy of users, giving them control over which groups they wish to join.

Whatsapp give control over groups you wish to joinStarting today, users will have different options for choosing who can add them to WhatsApp groups. WhatsApp announced that this new feature will be available to all users.

By heading over to the Privacy Settings in WhatsApp, users will be able to choose among “Anyone”, “My contact”, and “Nobody” options for who can add them to a group.

If you reserve this privilege to your contacts, others will still be able to invite you to their groups. Likewise, if you’d like to examine all groups before joining, irrespective of who is adding you, choosing “Nobody” will help you avoid being added to a group against your will.

Admins of the groups will be able to send you invites for joining their groups via a direct message. They will also be able to add a custom message while inviting you. Once you click on “Join group”, you will get an overview of the group and its members.

Depending on this, you may choose to accept or reject the invitations. To make sure you receive this feature, keep the app updated or grab the latest version from APK Mirror.
