It has become the government’s top priority to guide the educated youth of the province in the right direction in light of the province’s mounting unemployment and financial difficulties.

The Punjab government will help young people find sustainable sources of income through this initiative. Giving young people training opportunities for self-employment using internet-based freelancing is one of the project’s main goals.

The e-Rozgaar Program is a flagship initiative of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the government of Punjab’s Youth Affairs and Sports Department. The project is sponsored by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of the Punjabi government, and it is being carried out by PITB. The project was started in March 2017 with the intention of giving Punjabi youth free training in digital skills and freelancing.

The project’s initial goal was to establish 45 training facilities, including five specifically for women, across 36 districts in Punjab in order to produce 15,000 independent contractors annually. For a large number of Punjabi youth who are unemployed, this initiative provides crucial ICT and soft skills training in digital-based freelancing, enabling them to earn money online and increase foreign exchange.

This smart initiative by the Punjab government will help 15,000 people develop their freelancing abilities each year, which will eventually enable them to make a decent living. This programme is a revolution, not just a training one, that will help create jobs and get Pakistan ready to compete in the global labour market of the future.
