Zong had lowest latency in Pakistan: Internet Performance Report

The Internet Performance Report developed by Ookla aims to be the most accurate measure of a user’s real-world network performance. To that end they have made multi-server testing available on our web, desktop, and mobile Speedtest platforms.

Pakistan ranked 118th in the world for mobile speeds and 150th for fixed Broadband Providers in Internet Performance report by Ookla.

Testing multiple servers at the same time eliminates the need for a single server to fully saturate a connection and measure a user’s maximum download throughput capacity. At 17.89 Mbps, Transworld had the fastest median fixed broadband download speed in Pakistan. Jazz had the fastest mobile connection at 20.84 Mbps.

Mobile Fastest Providers – Download

According to Speedtest Intelligence, Jazz had the fastest median download speed among Pakistan’s top mobile operators in Q4 2022, at 20.84 Mbps. Provider Median Download Speed Mbps: Jazz 20.84, Zong 13.99, Ufone 11.26, and Telenor 5.13.

Mobile Median Multi-Server Latency

According to mobile multi-server latency results in Q4 2022, Zong had the lowest median multi-server latency in Pakistan at 46 ms, followed by Ufone at 54 ms, Telenor at 58 ms, and Jazz at 59 ms.

Mobile Consistency

When the consistency of each operator’s performance was measured, it was discovered that Jazz had the highest consistency in Pakistan during Q4 2022, with 82.8% of results demonstrating at least a 5 Mbps minimum download speed and a 1 Mbps minimum upload speed. Jazz has an 82.8% market share, Zong has 72.5%, Ufone has 69.0%, and Telenor has 45.1%.

Mobile Device Information

An examination of performance on some of Pakistan’s fastest phones revealed that there was no statistical winner during Q4 2022. Data was gathered from the following fastest phones in Pakistan: the iPhone 14 Pro Max Apple, the iPhone 12 Pro 5G Apple, the iPhone 13 Pro Apple, the iPhone 13 Pro Max Apple, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G Apple.

Mobile Manufacturer Information

Speedtest investigated the combined performance of major cell phone manufacturers and discovered that Apple devices had the fastest median download speed in Pakistan during Q4 2022, at 25.91 Mbps. Manufacturer names are listed along with Median Download Mbps, Median Upload Mbps, and Median Multi-Server Latency ms;

Apple 25.91 Mbps, 8.56 Mbps, 58 ms; Samsung 16.03 Mbps, 7.62 Mbps, 53 ms; Xiaomi 15.84 Mbps, 7.89 Mbps, 55 ms; Realme 12.99 Mbps 9.43 Mbps 51 ms; and Vivo 12.53 Mbps 10.02 Mbps 55 ms.

Fastest Fixed Broadband Providers – Download

According to Speedtest Intelligence, Transworld had the fastest median download speed among Pakistan’s top fixed broadband providers in Q4 2022, at 17.89 Mbps.

Connect Communications has a speed of 14.07 Mbps, Cybernet has a speed of 12.84 Mbps, Nayatel has a speed of 11.35 Mbps, Wateen has a speed of 9.57 Mbps, and PTCL has a speed of 7.61 Mbps.

Fixed broadband Median Multi-Server Latency

Our fixed broadband multi-server latency results did not show a statistical winner in Pakistan during Q4 2022. Nayatel at 11ms, Cybernet at 11ms, Connect Communications at 12ms, Transworld at 26 ms, Wateen at 29 ms and PTCL at 38 ms.

Fixed broadband Consistency

Transworld had the highest consistency in Pakistan during Q4 2022, with 38.4% of results demonstrating at least a 25 Mbps minimum download speed and a 3 Mbps minimum upload speed. Transworld holds 38.4%, Wateen holds 25.1%, Connect Communications holds 23.9%, Nayatel holds 20.0%, Cybernet holds 16.6%, and PTCL holds 11.7%.
