UoS and UPM Malaysia Agrees To Conduct Collaborative Research

In accordance with the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the University of Sargodha (UoS) agreed to expand their collaboration to conduct collaborative research, exchange scholars, and establish educational cooperation between the two institutions.

The discussions took place at the University of Sargodha during a meeting between Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari.The main focus of the discussions was the establishment of a joint campus in Pakistan to launch joint degree programmes.

Recognizing the importance of active participation by academic participants and researchers, both academic institutions agreed to promote and encourage academic and student short- and long-term visits. Aside from exchanging research and educational data to strengthen academic activities, the deliberations included inviting scholars and students to participate in training, lectures, conferences, symposia, and workshops.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas briefed the Malaysian delegation on the academic progress and achievements of Sargodha University. He vowed to expand cooperation for joint research activities in areas of mutual interest, as well as the exchange of ideas and innovations for mutual benefit.

Dr. Abbas also praised the University Putra Malaysia for consistently receiving high marks for its teaching, learning, and research activities. “Such collaboration and cooperation will assist us in expanding our international reach and opening new avenues for UoS faculty, staff, and students to promote research productivity and innovation,” he added.

Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari also spoke about the Universiti Putra Malaysia’s rankings, performances, and achievements, stating that UPM aspires to be among the top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings. He praised the UoS’s efforts to broaden and identify opportunities for exchanges, cooperation, collaborative research and development in fields of mutual interest that can be realised through this international partnership.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas gave Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari the souvenir and thanked him for visiting the University of Sargodha. Dr. Nazamid Saari also commented on the university in the university comment log.
