STAFF REPORT ISB:The World Wide Funds for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-P) has signed an MoU with Philips Electrical Industries (PEI) of Pakistan under the Green Office Programme. The programme provides certified sustainable solutions to the professional sector.

According to the MoU, lighting audits will be conducted at offices of the partners corporate clients who are certified or will be certified as Green Offices.

“The MoU is a critical step in an energy-starved country like Pakistan. On the basis of the lighting audit, Philips will be able to provide the best lighting solutions considering the current lighting levels, the wattage requirements and the replacement costs of the new solutions,” said a spokesman of WWW.

WWF Green Office Network will in turn also benefit from the audit and survey findings, as optimised lighting solutions will cut cost and enhance energy saving in the corporate sector.

Speaking at the occasion, Nazifa Butt, Coordinator Environmental Assessment and Green Office Initiative, WWF-P, said this is a very efficient initiative to reduce the carbon foot print of corporate entities and making them ecologically sustainable.

WWF-P initiated its Green Office Programme in 2009 with the idea of bringing down the consumption of natural resources in offices and also promoting renewable energy resources.
