CDA Visits Chongqing's 20 MW Rooftop Photovoltaic System

The visit included a comprehensive tour of key facilities, such as the rooftop photovoltaic system, inverter operations, and the prefabricated equipment cabin.

A delegation from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Pakistan recently embarked on a groundbreaking visit to the Wansheng 20-megawatt rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project in Chongqing, China. The delegation, led by PowerChina Chongqing Engineering Cooperation’s Overseas Business Division General Manager Tu Yongguo, gained valuable insights into the practical application, benefits, and processes of sustainable power supply through the rooftop distributed photovoltaic system.

The visit included a comprehensive tour of key facilities, such as the rooftop photovoltaic system, inverter operations, and the prefabricated equipment cabin. This hands-on experience provided the Pakistani delegation, led by Imran Muhammad, with a deeper understanding of the innovative project’s operations.

China Economic Net (CEN) reported that Imran Muhammad, the head of the delegation, lauded the Wansheng project, emphasizing the significance of green energy in mitigating carbon emissions and addressing energy scarcity issues. With an impressive annual electricity generation capacity of 14 million kilowatt-hours, the project is set to make a substantial impact by saving 40 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by a staggering 90 million tons.

Pakistan, endowed with abundant solar resources, holds immense potential for the development of the photovoltaic industry. Imran Muhammad’s visit underscored the importance of exploring sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions to meet the country’s growing energy demands while contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.

During discussions, Imran Muhammad and the delegation engaged in conversations about the promising future of green energy collaboration between Pakistan and China. The Wansheng project serves as a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the transformative potential of solar energy in addressing environmental concerns and fostering energy independence.

The collaboration between the CDA of Pakistan and PowerChina Chongqing Engineering Cooperation signifies a strategic partnership aimed at harnessing solar power for sustainable development. The visit not only deepened diplomatic ties but also paved the way for potential knowledge transfer, technical expertise exchange, and collaborative initiatives in the field of renewable energy.

As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change, the Pakistani delegation’s visit to the Wansheng project highlights the urgency and commitment of nations to transition towards cleaner and greener energy alternatives. The learnings from this visit are expected to catalyze similar efforts in Pakistan, encouraging the adoption of innovative solar solutions to address the country’s energy needs while contributing to a global transition to a more sustainable future.

The collaborative spirit exhibited during the delegation’s visit sets the stage for a new era of cooperation between Pakistan and China in the realm of green energy. The Wansheng project stands as a testament to the transformative potential of solar energy, offering a blueprint for other nations to follow suit in embracing sustainable solutions for a cleaner and brighter future.
