AEW 2023: UTM Offshore Sponsors Nigeria Invest Spotlight

UTM Offshore is honored to serve as the official sponsor of the Invest in Nigeria Energies Spotlight for African Energy Week (AEW) 2023. Service businesses are becoming more crucial in promoting the sustainable growth of the energy value chain as Nigeria’s energy sector expands.

Companies like UTM Offshore, a maritime and logistics services provider with headquarters in Nigeria, have played a crucial role in fostering the industry’s sustainable growth while expanding industrialisation and energy availability.

As the voice of the African energy industry, the African Energy Chamber (AEC) is pleased to announce that UTM Offshore, a Nigerian marine and logistics services provider, is the official sponsor of the Invest in Nigeria Energies country spotlight session at the African Energy Week (AEW) conference.

AEW, which will be held in Cape Town from October 16–20, is the continent’s major energy industry event. UTM Offshore’s support of the Nigerian national focus session, which comes after the business signed on as a Platinum Sponsor of the conference, demonstrates its dedication to driving negotiations and agreements in Nigeria’s energy industry.

The importance of organizations like UTM Offshore has increased as Nigeria prioritizes the exploitation of its 200 trillion cubic feet of known natural gas reserves for a fair and inclusive energy transition. Due in significant part to its sustainability and availability, natural gas is considered a priority resource by the government, and UTM Offshore is dedicated to growing the local gas market.

UTM Offshore has been instrumental in creating, managing, and implementing solutions for the marine and oil services sectors in West Africa since the company’s founding in 2012.

As part of a larger plan to hasten the penetration of new investments in Africa’s energy industry, the corporation has given relationships with regional and international energy companies and investors a priority.

UTM Offshore aims to advance energy security and socioeconomic development with an emphasis on providing sustainable solutions for the commercialization of energy resources in Africa.

The Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project in Akwa Ibom State, which is being spearheaded by UTM Offshore, is one of the company’s biggest gas initiatives currently under construction. The project, which is Nigeria’s first FLNG deployment, would improve gas monetization there.

The firm and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) inked a contract in December 2021 for the availability of $5 billion in funds to build the project. The firm partnered with global firms like JGC Corporation, Technip Energies, and Kellogg Brown & Root to expedite the project’s deployment, and in July 2023, UTM Offshore and Afreximbank signed a preparation facility agreement.

UTM Offshore, a pioneer in the FLNG project, is a key player in Nigeria’s infrastructure development through innovative marine and logistics services. As a platinum sponsor for AEW 2023 and official sponsor of the Invest in Nigeria Energies session, UTM Offshore’s commitment to driving investments and empowering Nigeria’s energy industry is evident.

“UTM Offshore’s dedication to helping Nigeria’s economy grow has opened the door for the construction of vital infrastructure and facilities. UTM Offshore is leading Nigeria’s just energy transformation by developing the nation’s first FLNG project, and other African energy firms may learn a lot from UTM Offshore, according to NJ Ayuk, the executive chairman of the AEC.

UTM Offshore will participate in high-level panel discussions, presentations, exclusive networking opportunities, and contract signings at AEW 2023 as the official sponsor of the Invest in Nigeria Energies spotlight, exhibiting the company’s strategic plan within Nigeria’s developing energy industry.

The AEW 2023 subject for the country focus is “The African Energy Renaissance: Prioritizing Energy Poverty, People, the Planet, Industrialization, and Free Markets,” and it will reveal a variety of cooperation and investment opportunities in the West African nation.
