Muhammad Shariq Kamal Khan, hailing from Garrison Cadet College Kohat has demonstrated remarkable excellence by excelling in the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge.

His outstanding performance reflects both his dedication and the quality of education imparted at his institution. He took part in the competition and placed first among Pakistani students for both the Gold and Bronze medals.

After winning medals in Math Olympaid Challenge, he stated in an interview that, “Since I had always like maths, I kept practicing. When I was admitted to the Garrison Cadet College in Kohat, however, my professors really supported and encouraged me. I’ve been improved by my professors, and as a result, I’ve succeeded.”

He earlier competed on behalf of Pakistan in the American Mathematics Olympics and took home a bronze medal.

The Individual Contest, the Team Contest, and the Math Warriors’ Challenge are the three rounds that make up SIMOC’s distinctive format that sets it apart from other math competitions. This approach promotes teamwork and collaboration among competitors while simultaneously encouraging individuals to excel at solving problems on their own.

Three categories made up SIMOC: a written math olympiad for students in grades 1 through 12 (Primary 1 to Junior College 2), a math master mind competition, and a mind sports challenge.

The Singapore International Maths Contests Center is the organization behind the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC).

After managing the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) for ten years, participating in numerous international maths competitions, and managing the Maths Warriors and Mind Sports competitions in Singapore for more than sixteen years, SIMCC made the decision to combine these into a new international maths competition that would allow students to experience the excitement of maths games as well as the challenge of solving puzzles.

Singapore hosted the inaugural SIMOC on August 12, 2015. Along with 414 participants, more than 350 parents and instructors participated from 13 different countries. In spite of the COVID epidemic in 2020, approximately 1,120 competitors from 16 nations and territories participated in the first SIMOC online, demonstrating SIMCC’s expertise in putting together international events.
