UK Delegation Fundraising For Breast Cancer Patients

The delegation from the UK, which consists of doctors Saeed Ahmed and Saleem from the UK as well as Fareed Ahmed and Naveed Ahmed from Canada, is raising money for children with disabilities and breast cancer patients in order to provide modern facilities for patients and familiarise local doctors with cutting-edge research and treatment.

In order to get to Lahore General Hospital, a delegation from the United Kingdom had to pass through 11 nations, underscoring the value of international travel in promoting Pakistan’s amiable reputation and medical prowess.

Dr. Al-Fareed Zafar, Principal of the Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer Uddin Medical College, praised the delegation for their humanitarian mission and emphasised that breast cancer is a serious issue that is becoming more and more of a threat not just in Pakistan but around the world. He made these remarks during a press conference.

Zafar expressed confidence that the efforts to raise money on this platform for breast cancer patients would help to save the lives of underprivileged women who were suffering from the disease.

Zafar also discussed the potential for tourism to improve Pakistan’s reputation and increase revenue. He proposed that the government sponsor 4-5 foreign students each year, giving them state guest status so they could travel the nation and serve as Pakistani ambassadors.

Al-Fareed Zafar, along with his faculty members, announced their contribution to the fundraising efforts and wished the delegation success in their mission.

Lahore General Hospital was designated as an autonomous hospital on July 1st, 1998. The hospital’s initial CEO was named Dr. Sabiha Khurshid Ahmad. Following autonomy, new urology and orthopedic operating rooms were launched, which reduced the enormous burden of SOT.

Additionally, a laundry facility was built. In addition to the eighteen rooms in the neurosurgery department, the general ward now has seven private patient rooms. In 2017, it made history by performing the first laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy at a hospital in the public sector. It is no longer subject to any utility taxes.
