No fewer than 50 youths have been trained in accounting technology and digital marketing by the Yoruba Professionals Foundation in Lagos.

The convener and president of the group, Mr Maxwell Adeleye, at the end of a five-day training said there was the need to train entrepreneurs in the South-West to develop their businesses through accounting and digital marketing.

He said, “This is the second edition of our training. In our first edition, we focused on smart home automation which we envisioned to fight insecurity.

“This time around, we believe that as young people, there is the need to help graduates who want to go into entrepreneurship to develop their businesses.

“With what we’ve done, we are sure none of the participants will run at loss anymore in their businesses. When small scale enterprises are booming, jobs will be created, poverty and hunger will reduce drastically.”

One of the participants, Mr Ahmed Bolaji, said the training would help him to perform better in his business.

“Within the one week of the training, what I’ve learnt is like what I’d have learnt in two years. We learnt about digital marketing, Excell, auditing, among others. What I’ve learnt will no doubt help me move forward in my business,” he said.

The five-day training was organised by YPF in partnership with Yoruba sociocultural group, Ilana Omo Oduduwa.
