The Future of Fintech in MENA Webinar

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have had an active fintech scene in the past few years. There is one event that is coming up called ‘The Future of Fintech in MENA’ that will discuss the ecosystem in the region. The event will be hosted on LAFFAZ Media to share insights on the challenges, innovation & opportunities in the Fintech space of the MENA region – featuring various fintech domain leaders including Tabby, HubPay, PosRocket, MIZA Financial Services, and Mamo Pay.

The event will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, hosted by LAFFAZ Media and Powered by Microsoft for Startups MEA. The virtual session is free to attend and is part of the #LAFFAZLIVE online event series which aims to cover topics that matter to the startup ecosystem, whilst onboarding leaders and experts across various domains of the startup ecosystem.

The speaker lineup will feature various fintech domain leaders to discuss the challenges, Innovation and Opportunities in the Fintech domain of the MENA region. Speakers include Zeid Husban, CEO of POSRocket; Hosam Arab, CEO of Tabby; Kevin Kilty, CEO of Hubpay; Mohammad El Saadi, CEO of Mamo Pay; and Mohamed Wefati, CEO of MIZA Financial Services.

The webinar will be moderated by Roberto Croci, the Managing Director of Microsoft for Startups MEA. Roberto previously served as the Regional Head, Google Marketing Platforms – EMEA Emerging Markets (Middle East, Turkey, Israel, Russia, Africa). He has been awarded and nominated twice in Google for “Best Coaching Manager” and “Best Googler Inspiring Hero”.

The fintech space has witnessed huge growth in the MENA region both in 2019 and in the first half of 2020. Even in times of COVID-19, Fintech domain topped in terms of the number of VC funding deals happening across the MENA region.

The event will discuss crucial topics centered on the emergence and acceleration of concepts like Buy Now, Pay Later; Digital Lending; e-Wallets; Point-Of-Sale enablers, Banking-as-a-service (BaaS), and more. The event sessions include: “Buy Now, Pay Later” – The hottest trend in the MENA Fintech space; Open Banking and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) – Bypassing risk factors; Cloud-based Point-of-Sale – The need of the hour; and Fintechs making money-transfer a breeze.

One of the partners, LAFFAZ Media, is a news-hailing startup that aims to bring the best of the startup ecosystems of MENA and India through news, startup stories, events, interviews and special longform features resourceful to the startup community.
