Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued notification to all the cable operators across the country to start broadcasting transmission of PTV Tele School Channel.

The Tele School Channel run by Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) will air educational programmes in partnership with Ministry of Higher Education & Professional Training.

PEMRA stated that in wake of the current Corona Pandemic and subsequent closure of schools and Colleges, PTV is launching a new educational channel Tele School in collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education & Professional Training. All Cable TV Operators are directed to ensure the transmission / relaying of PTV Tele School channel.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood said that state run PTV channel starts broadcasting special 1 to 12 class study contents in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic to ease academic losses of students.

Minister further said with an increasing number of schools shutting down campuses and shifting their learning online to try and contain the spread of Coronavirus.

He added that PTV will fully support to education ministry in this critical time, when schools and colleges are closed as precaution against Coronavirus.

He informed that channel will be available from 8am to 6pm. juniors will be given classes followed by seniors in the morning session.

He told that the PTV’s team would also add graphics and make some changes to attract attention of the students.

Ministry of Education prepares feedback mechanism where students can easily ask and reply the question regarding their courses. Ministry continuously conducts meetings with PTA and Universal Services Funds (USF) for this purpose to improve the connectivity and give the access to students living in remote areas of the country.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has also launched a Consumer Support Center with efficient and trained agents to facilitate students who will able to listening complaints regarding access of services and connectivity.
