STAFF REPORT ISB: The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has recently organised a National Consultation Workshop on SERVIR Hindukush Himalaya Needs Assessment, in collaboration with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) at the PCRWR headquarters here.


The SERVIR programme is USAID-NASA joint venture, which supports developing countries to improve their environmental management and resilience to climate change through integration of earth observation information and geo-spatial technologies into development decision-making.


Speaking at the inaugural session, the chief guest Fazal Abbas Maken, Federal Secretary for SandT, said that most of the water resources of Pakistan originate from the north i.e. the Hindukush Himalaya region, that is why it is called the mother well of the Indus basin irrigation system.
