Ministry of Energy (Power Division) appoints Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan as Managing Director, National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC).

National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) has started work with the new managing director. His predecessor Mr. Zafar Abbas Joint Secretary (Power Division) has resigned from the post of MD NTDC due to his commitment to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division).

A spokesman of NTDC said in a news release issued here that Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan did his Ph.D. and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia, and BSc Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore.

He also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from NUML, Islamabad.

He has been enjoying 27 years of power sector experience. He performed his duties in NTDC as General Manager Power System Planning, GM Design & Engineering, GM Performance Assessment, GM Asset Management, and GM Project Delivery.

Dr. Khawaja Rifat has taken over the charge of MD NTDC.

The spokesman of NTDC has said that Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan did his Ph.D. and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia, and BSc Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore.

National Transmission & Despatch Company is a Pakistani government-owned power transmission company. It was established in 1998 and owns all 220 KV and 500KV grid stations and transmission lines in Pakistan. Its present headquarters are located at WAPDA House, Lahore, Pakistan.

The company operates fourteen 500 KV and forty-three 220 KV grid stations, 5893 km of 500 KV transmission lines, and 10963 km of 220 KV transmission lines in Pakistan.
