IT ministry launch Beti app to facilitate Pakistani women

The federal information technology ministry publicized its decision regarding develop a mobile app called ‘Beti’ as soon as possible to spread awareness among women about their rights and to provide them facilities.

IT ministry launch Beti app to facilitate Pakistani womenThe decision was made during a meeting held under Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in Islamabad. The meeting attendees were the senior officials of the IT Ministry. He was explained about a mobile App Beti. He appreciated the program and issued directives for creating app on priority basis.

This app will also work as centralized platform for existing women empowerment programs executed by the public and private sector.

According to the Ministry’s official the Beti app would work parallel to an online portal and offer guidance on women’s rights, distribute information on laws and regulations. The goal of the new app is to help women become independent through information and communication technologies (ICT).

Officials informed that the Beti app will also provide information related to Pakistan’s laws, women’s education and scholarships, as well as job opportunities for Pakistani women. It will also assist them in locating locations of the nearest hospital, job portal and women police station in their area, alongside various other services and facilities.
