MoU signed to build Greater Bay Area nano innovation industrial cluster

A memorandum of understanding was signed recently for building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area nano innovation industrial cluster in Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong province.

MoU signed to build Greater Bay Area nano innovation industrial clusterThe Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is a megalopolis, also known as the Pearl River Delta, consisting of 9 cities and 2 special administrative regions in south China. On 7 December 2016, the concept of the area was mentioned in the English version of the 13th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China.On 13 April 2017, the heading of a piece of news released at the English.gov.cn website of the State Council adopted the name “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area“.

The MoU, signed by the administrative committee of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology and Science City (Guangzhou) Investment Group Co, aims at turning the complex into China innovation industrial cluster, with quality talents and projects from home and abroad to be drawn.

The plan is for the cluster to occupy 1.1 square kilometers and include four parks for nano intelligent technology, nano life and health technology, nano energy and environmental technology, and nano super composite material technology, respectively.

Construction of the initial part of the nano intelligent technology park, occupying 20 hectares, has started, with topping-off expected by the end of this year.

This part is designed to include talent apartments, offices for headquarters and facilities for research and development and incubation.
