A CBC test ordered by a licenced physician will cost Rs. 90, and deserving patients will get a 35 percent discount on PCR and other necessary tests.

By announcing official rates, the Punjabi government has put measures in place to control the price of laboratory tests for dengue patients. These rates of laboratory tests for dengue patients have been mandated by Dr. Jamal Nasir, the Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare.

A CBC test ordered by a licenced physician will cost Rs. 90, and deserving patients will get a 35 percent discount on PCR and other necessary tests.

Dr. Nasir mentioned that the Health Department has hired over 1,500 new employees to participate in the anti-dengue initiatives during a meeting on anti-dengue measures. He emphasised the value of educating these employees and making sure they are present in the field.

Dr. Nasir also emphasised the necessity for private housing projects to hire sanitary workers according to their size and actively take part in local anti-dengue activities. He requested certificates from the heads of all government agencies attesting to their adherence to SOPs in their workplaces and official residences.

Dr Nasir gave the Health Department’s field teams instructions to step up dengue surveillance activities and solicit support from the public in order to stop dengue mosquitoes from breeding during the monsoon season.

He emphasised that the only real way to prevent dengue fever from endangering human health is to stop mosquito breeding. Weekly meetings at the district and tehsil levels should be held to monitor dengue-related activities, and a public education campaign involving students, teachers, and the general public should be started.

Dr. Nasir emphasised the significance of paying close attention to dengue larvae breeding hotspots, such as open areas, parks, cemeteries, and containers.

A viral infection called dengue (break-bone fever) is transmitted from mosquitoes to humans. In tropical and subtropical climates, it occurs more frequently. The majority of dengue patients experience no symptoms.

However, for those who do, high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and rash are the most typical symptoms. Most people will also recover in 1 to 2 weeks. Some dengue patients experience severe illness and require hospital care. Dengue fever can be fatal in extreme cases.
