Shuttlers, a technologically advanced scheduled mass transit firm in Nigeria, has achieved the distinction of being named a 2023 Technology Pioneer by The World Economic Forum (WEF).

100 tech innovators from around the world who significantly advance industries like sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and inclusive healthcare receive the prestigious recognition.

“The 2023 class of Technology Pioneers is reshaping industries globally by exhibiting exceptional innovation and disruption. It is exciting to think about their potential contributions to the WEF’s mission of bridging public and private sectors to address global issues, according to Verena Kuhn, Head of Innovator Communities.

Kuhn explained that Shuttlers’ acknowledgement highlights its dedication to addressing the complex issue of expensive and ineffective transport systems in urban Africa. Shuttlers offers a practical bus ride-sharing platform to people and businesses looking for intelligent mobility solutions by utilising cutting-edge technology.

Damilola Olokesusi, co-founder and CEO of Shuttlers, expressed her joy at being recognised as one of the most influential and transformative businesses in the world and credited the team’s dedication and hard work for this accomplishment.

“We are honoured that Shuttlers firm has been named a 2023 Technology Pioneer by the WEF. This honour recognises our unwavering commitment to innovation and the significant change we are bringing about. This acknowledgement is especially satisfying for me as a Global Shapers member,” Olokesusi said.

She went on to say that Shuttlers will have the chance to participate in WEF initiatives over the following two years as a technology pioneer, working with public officials and business executives to create ground-breaking solutions for current crises and long-term resilience.

Olokesusi emphasised that Shuttlers’ role in promoting sustainable urban growth and its leadership position in Africa’s tech-mobility industry are both reinforced by being named a Technology Pioneer by WEF. She stated that the honour represents a significant accomplishment for Shuttlers and strengthens its commitment to persistently address urban transportation issues.
