The German aid organisation Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) has announced scholarships for students who want to study in Germany through Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC).
According to HEC, the company has announced scholarships for students who wish to enrol in their development-related postgraduate courses (EPOS) and pursue a master’s degree.
The HEC statement on Twitter read, “Under the Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) programme, foreign graduates from development and newly industrialised countries have the opportunity to take a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university in all disciplines and with at least two years professional experience.

Economic Sciences/Business Administration/Political Economics
Development Cooperation
Engineering and Related Sciences
Regional and Urban Planning
Agricultural and Forest Sciences
Natural and Environmental Sciences
Medicine and Public Health
Social Sciences, Education and Law
Media Studies
Pakistani graduates with at least two years of work experience are eligible to apply for the programme, but they must also hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, typically earned after completing a four-year programme.
Following their training or scholarship, candidates are expected to assume social responsibility, start change processes in their personal and professional environments, and demonstrate that their motivation is development-related. The DAAD is a private, federally and state-funded, self-governing national agency of German higher education institutions, representing 365 institutions (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 52 colleges of music and art.
However, the DAAD does offer competitive, merit-based grants for use in support of study and/or research in Germany at any of the accredited German higher education institutions. Additionally, it provides funding to scholars, doctoral students, and German students for study and research abroad.
The DAAD is the largest academic grant organisation in the world, with a budget of 522 million Euros and a support network of about 140.000 people worldwide. The organisation was established on January 1st, 1925, but it was shut down in 1945 and then reopened in 1950.
