Scholarships will be provided to students so they can complete their tertiary education at any accredited institution in the two nations.

Through their respective ministries and education departments, Malaysia and the UK have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase cooperation in the higher education sector of both nations. The MoU calls for strategic collaboration between universities in the two nations in areas like talent training and scientific research, among others.

The exchange of academic staff, teachers, experts, and students on initiatives that will be advantageous to both parties is also covered by the MoU, as is the provision of talent training platforms for administrators and teachers, including those engaged in in-service training.

Scholarships will be provided to students so they can complete their tertiary education at any accredited institution in the two nations.

The MoU also addresses cooperation in the areas of innovation, online learning, lifelong learning, entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), information and communications technology (ICT), technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and STEM among higher education institutions.

Abdul Razak Jaafar, secretary general of the higher education ministry, and Susan Acland-Hood, permanent secretary of the UK education department, both signed it.

The vice chancellors of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, as well as the Malaysian High Commissioner Zakri Jaafar, attended the signing ceremony.

The 18th public university in Malaysia is called Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, and it is situated in Terengganu.

The university is a creation of the Universities and University Colleges Act of 1971, and the Universities and University Colleges (Variation of and Addition to the Constitution) (Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin) Order of 2010 established its constitution. It is the first full-fledged university on Peninsular Malaysia’s east coast and the first to be built around the idea of “clusters.”

A public university called Sultan Idris Education University is located in Tanjung Malim, Perak, Malaysia. It was first founded in 1922 as a teachers college and is one of Malaysia’s oldest still-operational higher education institutions.
